About Pike Block

Pike Block is located in the heart of Downtown Syracuse. This urban living community is comprised of four interconnected historical buildings hosting 68 luxury apartments. Each apartment has been thoughtfully designed to fit the footprint of the 100+ year-old buildings. Scroll below to learn more about Pike Block’s story of revitalization.
1855 – 1970

Once the center of a bustling city

From the building’s construction in 1855-56, this busy corner of downtown Syracuse has played a central role in the development of the city. Pike Block has served as home to a business college, department store, lithographing business, among others.

1980 – 2005

FOUR BUILDINGS IN NEED OF REVITALIZATION

With the emergence of shopping malls in the mid-1980s and early-1990s, traditional retailers in downtown locations like the Pike Block were unable to survive. The buildings these retailers left behind sat vacant for over 25 years.

2006 – 2012

A COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER FOR CHANGE

Community organizations AdaptCNY & 40 Below joined forces to clean up the abandoned Pike Block. Over 250 volunteers, 62 total dumpsters, and 840 cubic yards of trash later, the once neglected buildings were now ready to be developed..

2012 – 2014

RECONSTRUCTING THE HEART OF OUR CITY

Syracuse-based VIP Structures was selected as the developer and design-builder to complete the 250,000 square foot downtown transformation. Their goal, to revitalize the core of the city by accommodating businesses/individuals to aid it’s growth.

REDEFINING CITY LIVING IN DOWNTOWN SYRACUSE

Since it’s revitalization, Pike Block has perfected the art of city living by offering modern luxury apartments abundant with amenities and rich in history. Not to mention an unbeatable location steps from the city’s best shopping, dining, and entertainment.
